Dear Brothers and Sisters,
There was an extraordinary display of strength and solidarity displayed at yesterday's Special Membership Meeting by the Brothers and Sisters of Local One. We are truly thankful for and honored by the pledges of solidarity from the leadership of Actors Equity and the American Federation of Musicians, Local 802.
Pride, honor and dignity ruled the day. From the newly organized to the retirees, from the department heads to the rank and file, we were ONE.
The date of September 30th, 2007 will go down in history as the day that the entire membership of Local One, from all the various aspects of our jurisdiction, whether it be opera, ballet, scenic shops, sound shops, television, theatre, concerts, industrials or any other number of special events that we service, came together and stood strong, stood determined, stood proud, stood as ONE.
As was stated from the floor, "Hold your heads high, Brothers and Sisters! We are Local One! The finest Labor Union in the land!"
