Free Training Leads to Advancement in Building Trades

New York, NY – Fall 2006
The Mechanics’ Institute is currently registering students for spring semester 2007 in its three professional track programs: Facilities Management, Project Management and the newest one, Historic Preservation.  This year over 400 men and women from the building and construction trades took advantage of the tuition-free technical training offered by the Mechanics’ Institute.  Since 1820, Mechanics’ Institute has provided technical training skills that have enabled tradespeople to increase their skills, gain promotions, and progress in their particular fields. 

Mechanics’ Institute also offers a variety of courses and programs to men and women working in the construction trades including Architectural Drafting, Electrical Technology, HVAC Systems Design, and Plumbing Technology.

Students may register now for the spring semester, beginning January 8, 2007.  There are no tuition costs, and a nominal registration fee. All courses are held in the evening, between the hours of 5 and 9 pm.
