Urgent Appeal
International President Thomas C. Short has created a Special Fund to provide assistance to I.A.T.S.E. members and their families who are suffering serious financial hardships as a result of the devastation from Hurricane Katrina and it cruel aftermath.
The I.A.T.S.E. has agreed to donate $10,000 to the special fund established by the Walsh/DiTolla/Spivak Foundation.
If at all possible, please contribute what you can. Checks should be made payable to the “Walsh/DiTolla/Spivak Foundation” with a notation indicating “Hurricane Katrina Fund” and be mailed to the Walsh/DiTolla/Spivak Foundation, c/o I.A.T.S.E., 1430 Broadway, 20th Floor, NY, NY 10018.
To further help our Brothers and Sisters, Local One will accept any and all clean clothes of all types for adults and children – women, men, boys, girls and infants and will ship them directly to the Locals in New Orleans, Biloxi, Lake Charles, Jackson and any other I.A. Local directly affected by the hurricane. I have been in contact either by phone or email with several officers from our Sister Locals in Louisiana and Mississippi and they are all thankful for the expression of concern and the desire to help. Please drop off any items at the office from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. As I’m sure you already know, the damage is vast and the recovery will take quite some time. Therefore, at this time there is no deadline for donations. Reach into your hearts and your closets, Brothers and Sisters. There is a great need.
Sincerely & Fraternally,
Robert Score
Secretary
