Steven B. Spivak Awarded Gold Card Membership into Local One

Steven B. Spivak, General Counsel to Local One was awarded a Gold Card membership into Local One of the IATSE on Friday, September 27, 2003. At the luncheon ceremony, Local One President Edward McConway spoke highly about the strong and steady relationship between Steve and Local One -- a relationship which has lasted for over thirty-five years and continues to flourish. In fact, Mr. Harold Spivak, Steve's dad, represented Local One's interests for quite some time and was awarded a Gold Card membership during his lifetime.

Steve's wife, Sandy, his daughter, Lisa, and his mom, Ruth, were all in attendance and were extremely proud of his accomplishment.

The International Alliance was well represented at the event. President Thomas C. Short spoke glowingly about the Spivak tradition. Michael W. Proscia, recently retired General Secretary-Treasurer, Matthew D. Loeb, Executive Officer of the IA, Attorney Leo Geffner and other members of Steve's firm, Spivak, Lipton, Watanabe, Spivak & Moss, also attended the special ceremony.

Brother Dennis Larkin, former President of Local One, and his wife, Audrey, made a special trip to attend the luncheon and were delighted to be there. Most of the present Executive Board of Local One were in attendance.

When accepting his Gold Card, Steve recounted his experiences working in the Local One jurisdiction as a young law student with pride. The respect he has for the work and organization of Local One was clearly evident.
