President James J. Claffey, Jr.

James J. Claffey, Jr. has worked in the entertainment industry for over twenty-three years, in every area of the Local’s jurisdiction including such venues as Radio City Music Hall, City Center, Madison Square Garden, CBS-TV, ABC-TV and various Broadway Theatres. He is a graduate of the Cornell University Labor Studies Certificate Program and the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. He served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Local One from 1996 to 1998 and as Theatre Business Manager for the union from 1998 to 2004, prior to his election as President in May 2004.
