Local One Replacement Room

IATSE Local One maintains a Replacement Room to help fill in work calls. It is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until 9AM. It is located in the Union Hall on the ground floor at 320 W.46th St between 8th and 9th Avenues.

Please consider the following before filling signing up for work.

• When you come to the hall, please bring a photo ID (drivers license or passport) and your Social Security card. A resume is helpful if you have one.
• You will be expected to arrive on time for every job referred to you
• You will be expected to have in your possession at least some hands tools.
• You may be required to lift at least 50 lbs and may be required to lift heavy objects multiple times
• You may be required to work weekends and holidays- including family oriented holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day among others
• You may be required to work long hours, sometimes over twelve (12) hours
• You may be required to work odd hours (after midnight and before eight (8) AM)-and note that these call times can come up quickly.

If you believe that you can reasonably meet all of the expectations listed above, please come to the Local. The Replacement Room is open to all, members and non-members alike.

Please note that the local one replacement room isn't a hiring hall, roster arrangement, or referral system through which employers are exclusively required by contract to fill all of their hiring needs.  Rather, the local one replacement room is operated as a convenience to local one members and anyone else working in the stagecraft industry as a freelancer in the local one jurisdiction.
